Hoover vs San Diego 1942

Theme from the Feb 1943 Dias Cardinals:
Our three years at Hoover have brought marked changes in our country, our school and our lives. The last, our Senior year, has found us in the midst of total war, with preparation for our part in this war the most important thought. Since we are featuring, in our yearbook, the symbolic figure of Joe Cardinal, who represents the typical Senior, and because of the war and the big differences it has made in our home and school life, we have chosen the theme: "Joe Cardinal Prepares for War," for this February 1943 edition of Dias Cardinales.
