To All Cardinals:
As the saying goes, “All good things must come to an end” and so it goes for Hoover High School as well.
Friday, Feb. 14th was Dr. Chuck Podhorsky’s last day at Hoover as the schools’ principal. Dr. Podhorsky - Chuck, as he is known by all of us who love and appreciate him so much, has moved on to become the new principal at La Jolla High School. Chuck served as Hoover’s principal for 12 years, and his legacy is one of tremendous accomplishments. Raising the academic level overall, re-establishing Hoover’s reputation as a school on the upward climb in all areas, Academics, Community interaction, Athletics, etc.
He will be greatly missed, and he leaves large shoes to fill. I liken his departure as being similar to what UCLA experienced when the legendary coach John Wooden retired. Men like these are rare and are blessings wherever they serve.
We wish him well, and we know he will always have this thought in his heart - ONCE A CARDINAL, ALWAYS A CARDINAL.
God Bless You Chuck, and as Bob Hope said so eloquently “Thanks for the Memories.
